Event Bike Parking (Bike Valet)
Providing Bike Parking (Bike Valet) at events encourages riding, reduces the need for vehicle parking and supports environmental sustainability.
What is Event Bike Parking?
Event Bike Parking (also known as Bike Valet) is a dedicated space at events where patrons can safely park their bikes, where they will be watched over by dedicated MOVE staff and volunteers while they enjoy the event, and then retrieve them as the event concludes. It is an opportunity for event organizers to support sustainable transportation, to encourage more riding and reduce vehicle parking demand. Event organizers pay a nominal fee to MOVE while event participants enjoy the service for free.
Why include Event Bike Parking?
Providing Event Bike Parking at your event can increase attendance, reduce your vehicle parking needs and communicate to your attendees that you support environmental sustainability. It encourages more people to travel by bicycle and supports your patrons who already do.
Want to have Event Bike Parking at your next event?
In the last decade, we’ve parked over 10,000 bikes and we’ve gotten every one of those bikes back to their owners safe and secure. Event organizers provide a space and MOVE staff provide the bike racks, fencing, signage, valet tickets and coordinate all volunteers. If you’d like to include Event Bike Parking at your next event, contact: Admin@MoveSBCounty.org.
Want to volunteer with Event Bike Parking?
As a Bike Valet volunteer, you will be an ambassador of MOVE and our mission to provide community-wide access to safe and equitable transportation. Volunteers set up and take down valet-area racks and fencing and park and retrieve bikes during the event. Volunteering is simple and easy and allows you to attend events. We provide valet services to events throughout the county including at the SB Bowl. To volunteer, sign up on our Volunteer page.
